Job Type: Full-time M-TH- 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, OT available

Job Overview:

The Paint Line Assistant supports the smooth operation of the paint line in a manufacturing or production facility. This role involves preparing materials for painting, loading and unloading parts, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control. The Paint Line Assistant works under the supervision of the Production Manager and collaborates with other team members to ensure production targets are met efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and Unloading Parts:
    Assist with hanging, loading, and unloading parts onto and from the paint line conveyor system or racks.

  • Surface Preparation:
    Ensure parts are properly cleaned, sanded, masked, or prepped for painting. May involve degreasing, sanding, or applying primers.

  • Material Handling:
    Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items between workstations, ensuring proper staging of materials for efficient workflow.

  • Quality Control:
    Inspect parts before and after painting to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Address any defects or inconsistencies by notifying the supervisor.

  • Safety Compliance:
    Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, goggles, and respirators. Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience:
    Prior experience in a manufacturing or painting environment is a plus but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Basic mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [weight]) and stand for extended periods
  • Physical Requirements:
    Must be able to lift, bend, stand, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment with exposure to fumes, dust, and noise.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires working in a production or manufacturing setting, often with exposure to industrial chemicals, paint fumes, and loud machinery. Appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times.
